Start 'em Young!

CJ all five years of adorable him is fascinated with everything at our house especially the jetty, my kayaks (waaa so many!) and the river. Must be quite a relief from the over 1,oookms drive with daddy, my brother-in-law who works in the land of milk and honey (or rather old and gas) called BSB, Brunei Darussalam - a.k.a. the private domain of the used to be world richest man; the sultan, Hassanal Bolkiah (who was briefly in the news last year when he, 56 married a malaysian newscaster half his age).Anyway back to CJ (who's more interesting and cute). He was particularly enthralled with my new 'lava-coloured' (red/yellow/red mix) double sit-on-top kayak that was kindly brought from KL to Kuching by Maureen on Chinese New Year's eve. (Some people buys new sports coupe, sofas or entire wardrobe for the chinese new year but I hate to follow the crowd!) And CJ wants 'unker' to take him on the boat and naturally I did with daddy's permission of course who was not too worried as CJ can swim 200meters non-stop at the local swimming pool in BSB! Shame on a lot of us! I repeat - that's 4 times up and down your olympic standards swimming pool! So folks; meet our future olympic swimming and kayaking hope - CJ! Got to keep these photos carefully for posterity sake! And to shame us further; CJ can also play a few simple tunes on the piano. Now everbody, with CJ at the keys - "row, row, row your boat gently down the stream ..."

CJ's a gem and at the cutest curious age where the whole world is just wonderful; cros included! He asked me what animals are in the river before asking if he could see it. Stoopid unker answered too fast ...
