Leaves of our Lives

posted by Francis Ho

I was on the jetty on a Sunday afternoon as the tide was coming in when I noticed a clump of leaves from the mangrove trees above floating on the water and gently drifting away with the tide; and with the reflection of the tree branches and leaves silhouetting against the sky creating a composition of such a simple and beautiful image.

I watched captivated; pondering if this is a reflection of our lives - was, now is and may be, playing our various roles on the stages of life; god willing in the grand scheme of things.

The dramas of births, hopes, dreams and deaths in an endless whirlpool of the cosmic cycle that perhaps only the seers can fully fathom.
Regardless of my capacity to fully grasp this; I intend to live well - healthily, happily, purposefully and beautifully surrendering myself to this uncertain journey we call LIFE.
Be Godly and Be Well.

Enjoy the pictures but do ponder.

(And IF the leaves are moving, you'll need to have your eyes checked and perhaps your head examined! Like me. Be serious but don't take ourselves too seriously!)

Beautiful. Nice subject for a water color painting.
Absolutely gorgeous - keep it up, uncle!
Who doesn't want to live well - healthily, happily, purposefully and beautifully? I believe that's everyone's dreams :) but unfortunately, to make it happen what we want is not that simple...
wow..
uncle is rather sentimental... can think so deep... wahahahaa..
I guess nature has a way of reminding us about our lives and the time that has gone by.

Nice - thoughts and pictures. Love the top picture. Nature does bring out the pensiveness in people, doesn't it? I know I could while away the hours out in the woods. Lovely post. Thanks.
Nice shots! Wish I was there to capture scene so I can post them in my blog instead. Is it okay if i see the leaves almost moving against the elaborate reflection and ripples?

And I can't be serious all the time. It kills me.
hmm.. must be a unker's hobby, looking at sky, and now at leaves.

hehehe

(Under my metal table in case anyone looking for me)
happysurfer - pssst! there're no woods here; only dense, damp n insects infested jungles lah!

agus - almost is not good enough; try harder! see 'em move! ;)

robin - u missed out the water ler!
Almost is as good as it gets, dear sir. I'm afraid you're alone there, you know where the leaves move...I should probably 'leave' you alone now...
I can imagine the leaves moving :D
Imagine.. not actually seeing :) So, there's nothing wrong with my eyes :)
Thanks for visiting my blog..

agus - u again! yeah 'leave' me alone ... ;)

yeah.. once in a while is alright :)
such a dreamy sensation.
I've found myself zoned out just watching leaves drift away on the water. It's like being caught up in story you don't know the ending to.
