I was home earlier than usual today giving me the opportunity to savor the sunset from my timber deck and jetty. Looking at the evening sky this thought came to mind and I'm sharing it here. Yes, open wide and let newness in.

yeah, normally I head straight home. there are not that many distractions in kuching for me to be 'sakai' about!

Yes, you are right that Indonesians in general like to close all the windows completely in their house at night, actually not only at night but the whole day especially in the big cities. It doesn't have to do anything with superstitions but more likely because of:
- safety (as you have predicted)
- air polution
- mosquitoes
- air conditioner
