This new little beauty from Dagger would be ideal for the upper reaches of the Sg Sarawak Kiri at Anah Rais in the Borneo Highlands with their tight narrow rivers punctuated with occassional Class 2+ rapids and its short length would be great to maneuver around fallen trees and last minute change of mind on which line to take for a rapid. The light weight would be appreciated where portaging is unavoidable and for easier put-ins. The Dagger Approach would make a really nice whitewater river runner on these rivers ...

Hmmm. Too many rivers, too many new boats and so little time!

... the Dagger Element 11.2 looks cool too. Darn!

Want to do a little of this, and a little of that? Not a problem. Dagger combined the best features of a whitewater river runner with the best features of a recreational kayak. The result is the Approach, a lightweight hybrid for paddlers of all skill levels. It’s great for a range of paddling environments - from protected waters to a fast moving river to mild whitewater kayaking, this boat can handle it all. It has the speed and tracking for a fun day on calm water, and all the maneuverability you’ll want for whitewater. The padded seat and adjustable backband will have you sitting in comfort all day long, and the sealed stern hatch makes carrying gear for overnight trips easy. Who says you can't have your cake and eat it too?

Poor thing, these beauties must have made an insomniac out of you. Can't blame you 'coz they're so sleek and beautiful esp that yellow one. Why does it remind me of an earlier post? Oh yes, that monkey on a banana. You know something, FH2o, you could give yourself this beauty for your birthday - and don't talk in your sleep; you don't want Madame to know, right?

Did I say that? Geez, I'm bad influence. hahahahha.....

No matter, never lose sight of your dream.
the seat looks pretty comfy~ hahha
Hey FH2O, my friend's husband paddling out to pacific ocean using this kind of single seat kayak for hours, fishing then come back... it's like he has a boat. darn!
The "Approach" looks a lot like one of my kayaks, except I did not have a hatch. The problem I had was cleaning it. After going in the ocean, it always had some water and sand in it - especially if I got overturned in the surf on the way back in! The slope of the deck would not let the water drain when I turned it over. I finally had to put a drain plug in the stern, even then it wasn't easy.

On the water it was great - faster than my sit-on-top and much more maneuverable.

You could have a lot worse hobbies or habits to spend your money on, FH2O. Looking at these, I am getting anxious to get back on the water.
Hmm...do I want to buy a Gibson Les Paul, a Fender Jaguar, an Epiphone hollowbody, a Peavey Wolfgang, an Ibanez 7-string, or do I get a Rickenbacker or Fender Jazz bass instead. How about if I just say, "Fuggit," and get a new soprano saxophone?

Oh, wait, sorry...kayaks? Hmm...I wouldn't know. Still, just like me n' my guitars, I'm sure you can't have too many of 'em!
mangrooveDan / Chen - they cost under RM$3,000/- minus the transportation costs. ouch!

happy - i've lost track of the number of dream kayaks I want to own ... *sigh*

a^ben - i feel comfortable just lookin at 'em!

    blackwidow - he has actually!

panda - i can never completely get rid of the sand in my sit-in kayak! i've by now completely resigned to living with 'em in the cockpit! I'm waiting for the day we can go out n kayak together ... nice! :)

    moody - you're a bad influence ... but I liked you! ;)
    look expensive leh!
robin - emmmm its a lot less expensive than red coupes! ;)
