Photo Inspired Painting

posted by Francis Ho

Marvin is as passionate about watercolor paintings as I am about kayaking and photography. So when he asked my permission to use one of the photos I had taken on last Saturday morning when I paddled to Bako National Park, I was thrilled and happily acceded to his request.

So I was quite excited when Marvin messaged me in my chat-box late last night that he has completed the painting and posted in on his blog; and I eagerly checked it out. I was absolutely charmed with what Marvin had done with the photo producing such a delightful painting. Amazing.

Take a look folks. Enjoy.

wah.. Marvin is great... so nice..
mangrooveDan - Marvin's paintings are for sale. Check out his website by clicking on the link.

FYI Marvin's from Kuching but living and working in Singapore as a "bean counter" ;)

We're proud of this local boy!
ee..where the sampan comes from?
Woh! That's really amazing! So 'keng' lah this Marvin. What a delight!
Hi mangroovedan, yes I do sell my artworks, originals and prints. Just check out my website. I don't usually do portraits. Not too good at getting the likeness of a person, unless I spend days and nights correcting it...

happysurfer, robin, agus... glad you all liked it.

wuching, that's called artistic license. I added the sampan based on a photo I took at the Bako jetty. So, the locality of the subject is still intact.

fh20, thanks again.. I've sent you an e-mail regarding transfering of blog to own site.
*clap hand* that is really amazing, what a wonderfull painting.
