Earth, Wind & Water

posted by Francis Ho

On Saturday morning I retreated with Azmi and Joe to the Borneo Highlands to escape the heat of the city.

I had taken this trip a couple of times in the past before and was sharing it with them for their first time. Their anticipation and excitement made me felt like it was my first time too.

We floated down the crystal clear water and soothed by the cool gentle breeze in the shades of limestone hills outcrops and overhanging trees; we were soon in another world.

Though it was only 4okms from Kuching, it felt like we were a million miles away.

We exchanged few words as we paddled down from Bengoh to Kg Semadang, choosing intead to listen to the sounds of nature and grooving to its rythmn; and embracing the peaceful moments.

We are well.

Hi Fh2o, this looks like another great adventure. Where exactly is Borneo Highland, Bengoh and Kg Semadang? Can you please give me some directions? I will try and find it on Google Earth. Thanks.
i'm jeles liao!
Beautiful.... :)
Very nice. Just wondering; there must be pitcher plants around these places. How about some photos?

batukawa - drive past padawan (10th Mile) and take the Penrissen Road heading towards Borneo Heights. Turn right to turn to Kg Semadang with Sg Swak Kiri on its right. Trust this helps.

wuching - can take u there when you're here next. no problem.

selba - like u! ;)

ivan - u know what to do on your next holiday back home! ;)

lam chun see - yes there are pitcher plants but we would have to get out of the river. Will see what we can do one of these days.
wah, so nice... and a swim would be better..
FH2o, awesome! Perhaps one more to be included in your 'repertoire'? Thanks for sharing the beauty.
fh2o, is this adventure on the public menu yet? I am thinking ...Sg Sarawak Kiri or Kenan in Sep? With your directions, I have found Kpg Bengoh, Danu and Semadang on Google Earth. I have never been near the Borneo Highlands and surroundings - maybe this trip suits me best. Any suggestions?
