We had to send our maid off last night to the maid agency as we caught her throwing a note to the Indonesian construction workers doing some renovations down the road; with the code to our house burglar alarm. Subsequent search in her room revealed that she has collected all the spare keys to the padlocks to the security grilles and external doors. This is most unnerving and we are contemplating making a police report on this incident. This finally adds up and throw light on a number of recent disturbing incidents which I would not like to dwell on nor bore you with; and it's really maddening.

Oh no! That is awfull! Your family's vigilance paid off, phew! It is really maddening that it is impossible to hire help these days without ending up being screwed.

You're just unlucky lah! Some lucky people get such good maids, a real gem. But considering the background they come from, one will just have to be more careful...and keep one's fingers crossed.
house being ransacked or burglarized while owners not at home is one thing.when they came in to rob while the owners are in would be very dangerous.i know of an incident when the indon maid mixes some of her montly period's blood into the water flask where the family used to pour out as drinking water.luckily,the first drinker was alert enough to notice the difference of the water.

there was once our maid went off with 5-6 bags of clothes etc.
arghhhh.......
I know someone in Bahrain who just suffered a very similar experience with her family's Indonesian maid.

Everytime we hear of maids being abused. Not that we hear of maids abusing US.
You should report it. How can you not? Maybe you save your neighbors some trouble, maybe you save the maid's life or that of her accomplices.

piffles: u know how d employer found out ,its period blood? after a thorough rummage of her belongins,turned over her mattress to find all her used napkins still there.ask her why she didnt dispose off the soiled napkin...she kept quite but in the end ,admits she dip one into the drinking flask which was made of stainless steel.she did that just becos nenek scolded her!!..so,i was that "lucky" employer and without much delay,sent her back to where she belongs...her agent! it was early morning so i hope none of my family members drank that concoction!..there are good maids out there too,but we all got to be extra extra "smart" and cautious when getting their service.
