Kayaking Tarzans
posted by Francis Ho
We didn't see any orang utans on our kayaking trips but we were nonetheless entertained by these Tarzan wannabes on the waters on sunday morning!
Here are some pictures; water droplets and all on the lens but what the heck. Tarzan kayaking anyone? Sure beats hanging on to whatever you can hang on to in your crowded public commute; but do watch what you grab!

Maybe you should have offered them a discount if they could do a convincing Tarzan yell.
grab on to a pyton!
these 'teck kok lang' have to jump or hang from the kayak! never a dull moment!
Fh2o,
Thank you (and your team) very much for the wonderful trip down Sg. Sarawak Kiri last Sunday.
It was a wonderful experience for William, Margaret, Ah Sen and myself. We were so close to nature and I did yelled out "orang utan" a couple of times. It was ecotourism at its best.
William is still raving about the trip and I heard some of his colleagues have already signed up for a trip.
Whilst we didn't see any durian that day, we totally enjoyed the chempadak. Yes, the tarzan act was one of the many highlights of the trip.
My dad will be back from Melbourne within the next 2 weeks. I will organise the same gang to paddle with him then. I am sure he'll love it.
As for you folks still thinking about kayaking, as the Nike slogan goes, "just do it!"
btw, I am currently in KL and will be heading off to Beijing tonight. Will be back in Kuching in a week's time.
Cheers

Pandabonium trivia: I grew up in the town of "Tarzana" which got that name because Tarzan author, Edgar Rice Burroughs had a large estate there.
Unfortunately, that did not give me any special ability to communicate with animals or swing on vines.
Looks fun!
