Stuck Up On A Tree
posted by Francis Ho
Chisa San (from Tsukuba and quite near where Pandabonium is I believe) a Japanese research scientist on global warming on holidays in Kuching and taking our kayaking trip on Kelvin’s recommendation; decided to warm up things a bit by climbing up a tree cantilevered over the river. And like the cat that climbed the tree and got stuck up there; Chisa was sitting up there for at least a good 20 minutes despite all manners of persuasion from us before she mustered the courage to jump from the tree into the waters as the only way to get back down! It's an experience Chisa will remember for a very long time; ahhh so - our first Japanese guest having a splashing good time!

Tsukuba? That's practically next door!
Is Chisa-san from Tsukuba, or does she work at Tsukuba Science City? You see, Tsukuba has the largest concentration of scientific research facilities in the country. It also has a really cool mountain right nearby (see Pandabonium's blog for details).

wuching - in the middle of the rainforests? who're you gonna call?
Actually Kelvin went up the tree to show her that it's safe to jump into the river!
mm - I think she's from Tsukuba and works there too. Chisa also mentioned that it's the center for rearch work.I think she'll be letting the other scientists there know about kayaking through the tropical rainforests!
