Put-in @ Kg Abang, Borneo Highlands. Kuching

posted by Francis Ho

The put-in at Kg Abang / Simpang Empat at Borneo Highlands at a sandy banks just beneath a steel bridge with the mist covered mountains in the background and lush vegetation on both banks of the river is simply stunning. On an early misty sunday morning we set off for Kg Git. Heavy rains during this monsoon season ensured that the water levels were high and gave us a fast thrilling run (especially over the 4 rapids!) but we still took over five and a half-hour to reach our destination; exhausted but elated. During the dry season, we would have taken twice as long. What were you doing on sunday morning? ;)
