Lonely No More

posted by Francis Ho

Wayne spotted and emailed to inform me that ‘Kuching Kayak’ has been listed in the latest edition (2007) of the new Lonely Planet's Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei guidebook under activities (page 345) that he had just gotten hold of. Since the lonely planet’s guide books is arguably the most popular with travelers; we are now given world-wide exposure. Wayne should have seen the grin on my face as I excitedly typed my appreciation to him for letting me know so promptly.

And my appreciation and thoughts immediately went out to the guests who had taken our trip and thanked us for showing them a wonderful time and told us that they would be informing the whole wide world/planet about their amazing experience floating through the rainforests, kayaking inside caves, climbing up vines and on occasions kayaking under a waterfall! But we had never imagined that we would be listed in the Lonely Planet that quickly!

As a pioneer taking people out on kayaking trips through the rainforests of Borneo, I had on occasions felt it but I sure am not feeling so lonely now! My heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Lonely Planet for listing us and to all those wonderful guests on our trips, who had been such wonderful ambassadors for us! I send you all my love and appreciation.

"Experience the jungle-frontier excitement of Malaysian Borneo or the sleek sophistication of Kuala Lumpur, sip gin slings amid colonial grandeur in Singapore or hot tea at a hill station in the Cameron Highlands, watch light playing on the domes of a stunning mosque in Brunei or the sun rippling on the water at Pulau Perhentian - this comprehensive guide covers all this and much more."
